| Requirements for Application to a Graduate Program |

| Applications to the Masters Program or to the Ph.D Program must include the following: |
- Completed application forms, including a personal statement.
- Official transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate institutions attended.
- Three letters of reference, with at least two from former professors or individuals who can evaluate academic preparation.
- Results from a Graduate Record Examination (GRE) taken in the last five years. LSAT scores may be accepted in lieu of GRE scores if the test was taken in the last five years. Please note that we can no longer accept GMAT scores.
- Individuals with an undergraduate degree from Penn are not required to submit GRE or LSAT scores in order to apply to the M.S. program.
- Results from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) for those who do not have transcripts with one year of study at an English-speaking university.

Admissions Data |
The Department will accept applications on a rolling basison for the M.S. Program until June, 2009 (through May, 2009).
The application deadline for the Ph.D. Program is December 15, 2009. NOTE: We encourage interested persons to submit applications early in light of the strong interest being expressed in the program.

Of students admitted to the program for the fall of 2007, 11% are international, 66% are women, 95% are full-time, and 22% are University recognized minorities. Some 22% came from schools in the top 20 in the country, as rated by U.S. News & World Report.

| Financial AId |
Students in the Criminology Masters program are eligible for fellowships or assistantships on research grants as available, and limited financial aid is available. However, admissions offers cannot be tied to full financial support.

| Tuition Costs |
The cost of tuition and required student health plan fees for 2009-2010 is set out below.
• Full-time tuition and fees are $19,136 per semester (total $38,272).
• Health insurance fees are $1,327 per semester (total $2,654).
A portion of the general fee is allocated to the physical development of the University, to support the Student Health Service, the Career Placement Service, graduate student activities, recreational facilities, and other services not directly associated with specific courses. Tuition and general fees are payable on or before the appointed registration date for each term
